This Lie-Nielsen rabbet plane, known as the 'Butt Mortise Plane' in English, is derived from the 1948 model by W.A. Dohmeyer. The main feature of the rabbet plane is the open bed for good visibility and the narrow blade. This allows you to precisely remove a portion of the wood for installing hinges, locks, or other recessed objects.
The cast iron plane is equipped with two wooden knobs.
