Lie-Nielsen Small Router Plane #271 (closed throat)

Based on the Stanley #271, Lie-Nielsen has produced this small router plane. With a plane width of only 6.4 mm, this plane is suitable for small relief work and small wood joints.

The blades of the Lie-Nielsen router plane have a rectangular shaft, which keeps the blade securely in place.

The 'original' router plane #271 has an open front, allowing you to see the wood where the plane blade contacts it. This provides better visibility. This closed version is especially practical when working on the edges or corners of the wood because the plane's body provides more support.
