Lie-Nielsen Small Chisel Plane #97 ½

This chisel plane is derived from the model that Stanley produced until 1944. The main feature of the chisel plane is that the plane iron is completely exposed at the front of the plane. This makes it possible to clean and flatten a surface with glue residue, as the residue won't get trapped between the plane iron and the plane. Other useful capabilities include flattening dowels protruding above the material and finishing dovetail joints.

Due to the construction of the chisel plane, you can work with this model right up to an upright edge! The Lie-Nielsen chisel plane is made of bronze and has a cherrywood knob and handle, featuring precise depth adjustment using a small wheel.
