The Lie-Nielsen mortise chisel is based on the Stanley mortise chisels. The 275 mm long mortise chisel is made of A2 steel hardened through cryogenic treatment. The sides of the chisel are parallel and narrow, allowing for precise mortising even in tight spaces.
Regular honing of the chisel will keep it sharp for a longer period, reducing the frequency of sharpening.
