Based on the Stanley #71, Lie-Nielsen has produced this large router plane. With a planing width of 9.5 mm, this plane is suitable for relief work and wood joints.
The planing knives of the Lie-Nielsen router plane have a rectangular shaft. This keeps the blade perfectly in place.
The router plane is equipped with a depth adjustment, so that you can determine how deep you want to plan. You can also do this very precisely with the fine adjustment knob.
The plane has an opening in the middle, so you have an excellent view around the material and the planing bit. You move the plane over the wood with the two wooden buttons on the side.
