Lie-Nielsen Iron Skew Block Plane #140 ductile
article number: 15213Product information
The Lie-Nielsen Skew Block Plane #140 is a cross between a block plane and a rabbet plane. Due to the 12º bed angle and the 18º skewed blade, this plane easily planes into grooves or for wood joinery.
The base of the plane is made of Ductile and finished with bronze and brass components. The blade is made of A2 steel and hardened to Rockwell 60-62. Additionally, the blade has undergone a cryogenic treatment, ensuring it stays sharp for a much longer period.
This plane is suitable for planing both along and across the wood grain.
